Being Home, X-ray Edition is a photography series that captures the physical remnants of daily life in a household where elderly care and chronic illness are present. X-rays reveal the inner workings of the body. I photographed objects in my home, turning them into X-rays. The physical aids support the body. These aids are not visible outside of the house; they are X-rays that look inside. Physical aids are vital extensions of the body and contribute to the body and caregiving experience. The aids help lift and move bodies. These aids become an integral part of the body and are essential components of the home and daily experiences of both bodies and their carers. Yet there is no insight into bodies. These aids are portraits of the bodies that once occupied them.
