Contant Reflections,
Video Performance, 2014

The formation of the self is shaped by negotiating what is visible and what is invisible. The need to be mirrored and the ongoing necessity of reflection are crucial for constructing and preserving an internal dialogue that affirms the different identities that make up the self. This introspective dialogue expresses internal conflict through the physical body and serves as a bridge between the visible and the invisible.

Constant Reflections is a performative video installation that explores this internal rhythm. The rhythm of the self becomes visible through our physical presence with others. This essential experience forms the foundation of human interaction and likeness. The presence of another person acts as an internal mirror, offering sanctuary in the feeling of connectedness. Through empathy, we can integrate another’s experience into our own. This reflectiveness is fundamental to our sense of association and responsibility to one another. Mirroring and reflecting create a rhythm—a song we all dance to. This rhythm may not always be heard or seen, but it is present in our shared experience.
