I’ll follow you, just in case, was reperformed at the opening of Rhythms of care, Obrat Gallery, Maribor, Slovenia.

I’ll Follow You, Just in Case is a participatory performance in which the artist straps a transfer/walking belt around a participant and moves through the gallery alongside them. Drawing from the tools of caregiving, the work transforms a support belt—typically used to assist those with mobility needs—into a device for shared navigation. In this context, the participant leads, while the artist offers subtle, responsive support, creating a “shadow effect” as their movements intertwine.

The performance centres on presence and embodied awareness. The artist attunes to the participant’s rhythm, matching steps, maintaining balance, and providing support without taking control. The action blurs the boundaries between leading and following, emphasising the mutual dependence inherent in acts of care.
