Within the Shadows portrays the evolution of matriarchy across three generations of women. The work highlights the bonds that unite these generations, made visible through their physical resemblance and shared presence. When familial lineages are unclear or unknown, connections and presences become muddled. Light and shadow interact, much like what is known and unknown within a family. This connection weaves the family together, revealing itself more fully through the passage of time and lived experience.
