Waiting Room 1, 2 and 3. Xray Box and Digtial Print, 2025.

Waiting Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are X-ray lightboxes, each holding 31 inverted images of Knežević waiting with her mother (Waiting Room 1), her grandfather (Waiting Room 2) and her grandmother (Waiting Room 3). The images move between hospitals, home and the gaps between appointments, showing waiting as an everyday condition of life with illness and care.

Medical waiting rooms are familiar spaces that have come to stand for waiting itself. For those receiving care, and for those giving it, this waiting can feel endless. It changes how time is experienced, as attention turns to what is being waited for: results, treatment, a plan, and care. The waiting does not stay in the clinic. It follows people home and into ordinary days, shaping how the body, time and the self are perceived and experienced.
