Two Way Street,
Video Performance in collaboration with Anica Knežević, 2023

Two Way Street is a performative video work that examines the dynamics of caregiving within the mother-daughter relationship. Having a parent with a disability is second nature; it has shaped my understanding of care as a mutual exchange rather than a one-directional act. My mother has cared for me throughout my life, and I have cared for her for as long as I can remember.

The work reflects on the shifting roles of caregiver and receiver, revealing care as a reciprocal and evolving relationship. Through acts of support, negotiation, and presence, Two Way Street challenges the assumption that care flows in a single direction. Instead, it proposes caregiving as a shared experience shaped by interdependence, trust, and love. My mother is my caregiver, and I am hers. Caregiving is a two-way street.
